Description Taitong HS218
The Taitong HS218 truck tire is designed for installation on the driving axles of trucks used in intercity and interregional transportation. A characteristic feature of this model is the combination of excellent traction and adhesion properties in the longitudinal direction with low rolling resistance. Also worth noting are the low operating costs, due to the attractive price and long service life.
Increased contact patch size
The tread pattern of the Taitong HS218 model features four longitudinal ribs, each with massive dimensions. This has made it possible to make the contact patch as large as possible, which in turn has improved traction, and due to the increased support area, has increased the tire's carrying capacity.
Closed shoulder design
Another characteristic feature of the tread pattern of this model is the design of the shoulder areas. Each of them is a solid structural element with very high stiffness. This design has significantly improved a number of important tire parameters, from rolling resistance to resistance to impact loads and uneven wear. In addition, it is impossible not to note the significant reduction in the level of noise generated by the edges of the central part of the tread.
S-shaped lamellas
As mentioned earlier, the tread pattern of this model features four longitudinal ribs, two of which are located in the center and differ from the shoulder areas in design. Its characteristic feature is the presence of a large number of S-shaped lamellas. These tread elements form a multitude of transverse edges during movement. Due to this design feature, the tire demonstrates excellent traction properties in the longitudinal direction.
Main features of the Taitong HS218 tire
- the tire is designed for the driving axles of trucks;
- a large number of edges formed by lamellas in the central part of the tread;
- the closed design of the shoulder areas reduces rolling resistance, optimizes the distribution of external pressure on the contact patch, and also significantly increases its size;
- excellent resistance to uneven wear, increased support surface area due to practically identical sizes of the longitudinal ribs;
- excellent directional stability due to the high resistance of the tread elements to dynamic deformation.
