Description Riken Gripstar D
The Riken Gripstar D truck tire has a rather specific application area. It is designed for installation on any axles of trucks equipped with four-wheel drive transmission and operated mainly on rough terrain.
High-traction tread pattern
The letter D in the name of the Riken Gripstar D truck tire was taken from the word "Doppelkennung". With respect to this model, this word denotes the features of the tread pattern, which has two longitudinal rows of blocks in its central part. In addition, it has two shoulder zones that also have a block structure.
The solution to equip the tread with a reduced number of four longitudinal ribs allowed the tire to have a number of advantages. Most of them are a direct consequence of their massive size. First and foremost, this is a large contact patch area, which has improved traction on dry roads. Additionally, the massive tread blocks distribute external pressure over the contact patch much better, which has increased the tire's carrying capacity while extending its service life due to increased resistance to uneven wear.
However, the most significant advantage of this tread pattern is its excellent traction, especially on sandy and rocky road surfaces. The large number of individual blocks in the Riken Gripstar D tire has provided the contact patch with multiple traction edges. At the same time, due to the complex trapezoidal shape of the blocks, they are arranged in different directions, which has further improved the tire's traction properties.
High-performance drainage system
The open design of the tread pattern with a large number of individual elements has allowed the tire to be equipped with a very developed drainage system with many transverse and longitudinal channels. At the same time, the tire's developers made them wide and deep enough for the tread to intensively get rid of not only water but also soil particles. As a result, the tire demonstrates excellent resistance to aquaplaning when driving on highways and excellent self-cleaning properties of the tread when overcoming off-road sections.
Main features of Riken Gripstar D
- original high-traction tread pattern design allows you to confidently overcome off-road sections regardless of the road surface type;
- even distribution of external pressure over the contact patch due to the massive size of the tread elements;
- excellent traction properties on loose and rocky soils due to the multi-angle trapezoidal shape of the tread blocks;
- highly efficient drainage system allows you to easily cope not only with water drainage but also with cleaning the tread from soil particles that get stuck in it;
- excellent resistance to external aggressive influence due to the high-strength multi-layer carcass and specially selected rubber compound.
