The winter tire Ovation W-686 is one of the novelties of the well-known Chinese manufacturer, which developed this model specifically for the countries of Northern Europe, including, of course, Europe. Since foreign specialists took part in its creation, it is not surprising that in its design, almost the same technical solutions are applied as in the products of leading tire manufacturers.

Excellent directional stability on slippery roads

The first thing that catches the eye when looking at the tread pattern of this model is a very wide longitudinal rib, located strictly in the center. It consists of a series of separate blocks of a arrow-shaped form, connected by rigid bridges. This design feature gave this tread element a very high rigidity, which had a very favorable effect on a number of very important parameters. This is, first of all, directional stability, thanks to which the tire demonstrates stable behavior even at very high speeds. In addition, the rigid central rib provides clear and very fast reactions, which makes the control process easier.

Excellent passability in deep snow

Another advantage of this winter tire is the ability to confidently move through deep snow. It is provided by the block structure of the tread pattern. A large number of separate blocks, spaced at a significant distance from each other, create a multitude of engagement edges, while the tread does not get clogged with snow, which provides the tire with excellent passability indicators.

Reliable grip on ice

Like any high-quality modern winter tire, the Ovation W-686 is equipped with a large number of steel studs. They are arranged in such a way that when the wheel rotates, they form a multitude of longitudinal rows, which ensures reliable grip properties on icy surfaces.

High density of lamellas

Another sign that we are dealing with a high-tech product is the S-shaped lamellas, which are located throughout the tread pattern. They perform two functions simultaneously - grip on snowy and icy surfaces, as well as handling on cleared asphalt. When contacting the road, the walls of the lamellas, due to their wavy profile, tightly close, forming a multitude of additional engagement edges and significantly increasing the rigidity of the tread elements.

Cross-shaped grooves

One of the components of the drainage system of this model is cross-shaped grooves, located in the shoulder areas of the tread. Their key feature is that they capture snow, which makes the grip with a snowy road even more reliable.

Main features of the Ovation W-686 tire

- the original V-shaped tread pattern is designed taking into account the specific climatic conditions of the countries of Northern Europe and Russia;
- stable behavior on any winter surface, thanks to the rigid longitudinal rib in the central part of the tread;
- excellent grip properties on snow are provided by the block structure of the tread pattern;
- a large number of studs and S-shaped lamellas allow confident movement on icy roads;
- massive rectangular blocks in the shoulder areas, which provide increased passability in deep snow.
