The Cordiant Snow Cross 2 SUV winter tire is installed on SUVs and off-road vehicles. It is a modified version of the same-name "passenger" model. It differs from it in the design of the carcass and sidewalls, which have been significantly strengthened. This adapts the tire to the large weight and high center of gravity of modern all-wheel drive vehicles.
The model features several "signature" technologies from the Russian manufacturer. One of them is Ice-Cor. This is an original scheme for arranging spikes, in which 18 longitudinal rows are formed from them during movement. 10 steel elements are constantly in the contact zone with the road surface. Their body is made of aluminum, which significantly reduces the weight of the tire. The insert in contact with the road surface is made of tungsten carbide and has an octagonal shape with an increased number of multidirectional edges. As a result, the tire demonstrates excellent traction properties and their stability on slippery surfaces.
The Snow-Cor technology is a design of the tread part of the tire with a directed symmetrical arrangement of elements and an optimized profile. This significantly increases the area of the contact zone with the road surface, maximally saturating it with traction edges. A significant part of them is formed by 3D-lamellas of an original stepped shape. It limits the transverse mobility of the blocks, which increases stability during maneuvering. There are 3-stage mud catchers on the sidewalls that allow you to confidently exit the rut.
