Onyx NY-W187 (Studless) — technological platform for light commercial vehicles, operated in the winter season. Created for short and medium-distance transportation, it represents a synthesis of wear resistance and all-weather safety. This is a solution for those who need one reliable tool, equally confidently leading a van, both on wet spring asphalt and on a snow-covered city route, minimizing operational risks and costs.
Specific construction
The tread is based on a directional layout. This is an accurate mathematical calculation of the sequence, in which the sound waves generated by contact with the road cancel each other out. Despite the complex scheme, the blocks are combined into rigid longitudinal ribs, which maintain directional stability and prevent uneven wear.
Active traction
The surface of each block is permeated with a dense network of transverse and diagonal lamellas. This system works like an intelligent micro-brush. On a wet road — the lamellas absorb and cut the remaining water film, maintaining a dense contact between the rubber and the asphalt, which critically reduces the braking distance. On snow and slush, the multitude of sharp edges "bite" into the loose surface, providing the necessary traction for starting and maneuvering. Optimized longitudinal grooves guarantee the rapid removal of large amounts of water and slush, ensuring stability during emergency braking.
Durability in urban environment
The tire design is based on the principle of increased stiffness of the carcass and sidewalls. Deformation control — this minimizes the displacement of tread blocks during turns and accelerations, which directly leads to more even wear and increased overall mileage. The rigid side corps provides precise and immediate response to steering, improving maneuverability.
