Nokian NRV

The Nokian NRV summer tire belongs to the so-called "rain" tires, being designed for the most productive versions of compact and mid-size passenger cars. It is characterized by increased traction and coupling properties on wet pavement, emphasized sporty handling, along with low rolling resistance and acoustic comfort.

The asymmetric tread pattern stands out with an aggressive design, differing in the presence of wide drainage grooves, located at a large angle relative to the direction of movement. These features allow the elements to use the rotation of the wheel to increase the intensity of water removal from under the tire, maintaining this ability vividly expressed, both when moving in a straight line and when passing turns. Another important feature of the pattern is the location of the double longitudinal rib with an offset to the outer side of the tread. This significantly increases the directional stability and coupling when moving along a curve at high speed, providing high accuracy of control and preventing uneven wear. The inner side of the tread stands out with the presence of not only a large number of grooves, but also lamellas located almost perpendicularly with elongated edges. These elements increase the traction and braking properties on wet pavement, allowing to avoid wheel slip and locking.

Main features of Nokian NRV:
- a large number of directional grooves against the direction of movement provides high resistance to aquaplaning;
- a rigid double rib, offset to the outer side of the tread, increases directional stability and control accuracy at high speeds, reducing wear and rolling resistance;
- transverse lamellas with long edges improve braking and traction properties on wet pavement;
- improved rubber compound with special polymers in the composition improves coupling on dry and wet pavement, preventing rapid wear and overheating of the tire.
