The novelty of Finnish tire manufacturers, like its predecessor, was developed taking into account the requests of owners of SUV and CUV class vehicles. One of the characteristic features of the tire is its reliability on the worst roads. This is largely due to the reinforced construction of the sidewalls. From the former, polymers and finely dispersed silica particles were borrowed. These components provide elasticity at negative temperatures, heat resistance, and traction on cold and wet surfaces. The "off-road" models "shared" industrial soot, which increases the durability of the compound to tearing and stretching. This property significantly reduces the likelihood of puncture and cutting, and increases resistance to abrasive effects of uneven road surfaces.
Several types of lamellas
The tread pattern contains lamellas of several types, which makes their impact on handling and traction comprehensive. The slits located in the shoulder areas have a sinusoidal shape. In addition to increasing the effectiveness of the tread during braking, they also provide stability to the tire during this mode of movement, reducing the risk of wheel lockup. The straight and zigzag-shaped lamellas contained in the central part not only form a large number of sharp edges. They also dry the contact patch, directing water into the nearby drainage grooves.
Reinforcers between shoulder blocks
The drainage grooves in the shoulder areas contain special "bridges". Special cross-members rigidly connect the blocks located at the edges of the tread. This solution is designed to improve handling by increasing the speed and accuracy of responses to steering, and to increase the lifespan of the tread by reducing uneven wear.
