Nexen Winguard Spike – a non-studded version of the popular model, designed for harsh winter conditions. It has a wide range of applications, due to the variability of the size range. Provides confident traction, both on snowy and icy road surfaces.
The main "weapon" of the model against slipping, in the absence of studs, is a developed system of lamellas, which densely cover the tread with a developed block structure. Having a pronounced directionality, it protects against lateral displacement, while the edge effect of three-dimensional lamellas contributes to an increase in traction properties, firmly fixing the contact patch.
The use of a special rubber compound has significantly increased the tire's ability to withstand aggressive temperature effects. It contains silica, as well as a number of other components, the cumulative activity of which allows maintaining elasticity at the same level. This is reflected in the traction properties, which play a primary role in ensuring acceleration and braking characteristics. Despite its "softness", the tread is able to withstand heavy loads, providing an extended service life.
Another strong point of the model is its high-strength carcass. New (at the time of release) technologies were applied to it, which made it possible to increase resistance to mechanical stress. Moreover, the layered structure itself is distinguished by its flexibility, due to which the driving comfort (vibration absorption) was improved.
Key features of Nexen Winguard Spike:
- a winter model for harsh conditions;
- a directional symmetric tread with a developed block structure and an extensive network of lamellas;
- an effective aqua-drainage system capable of handling large amounts of water and slush;
- a special compound with a high degree of adaptability to low-temperature modes.
