The Nankang SV2 non-studded winter tire was introduced as far back as 2009. However, even after several years, it fully meets all modern requirements thanks to the continuous modernization process. This model is distinguished by an exceptionally wide range of applications. Its size range includes more than 80 different sizes for wheels from 12 to 18 inches. At the same time, almost half of the offered assortment is designed for high-crossing vehicles, from crossovers to heavy SUVs. Depending on the size, the tire has a speed index of T, H, or V, which indicates its high operational characteristics.
Original V-shaped tread pattern design
The tread pattern design contains both time-tested and very original solutions. The structure of the central part of the tread, consisting of five longitudinal ribs, is particularly noteworthy. At the same time, the most central of them is distinguished by very massive sizes and a solid rigid construction. This solution is dictated by the desire to provide the tire with excellent directional stability, both on slippery and on dry, snow- and ice-free road surfaces. At the same time, the two neighboring ribs have an arrow-shaped form, which not only further improved directional stability but also increased the efficiency of acceleration on a slippery surface due to the formation of many sharp edges.
Also, in the central part of the Nankang SV2 tread, there are two rows of blocks of a quadrangular shape. The sharp edges formed by them provide reliable traction with winter road surfaces, and their rounded corners significantly reduce the noise level. The two shoulder zones also contain many massive blocks that work like mud catchers in deep snow. In addition, their perpendicular arrangement relative to the direction of movement allowed to significantly reduce the braking distance on a slippery surface.
Key features of the Nankang SV2 tire
- The optimized design of the V-shaped symmetrical directional pattern is highly effective on any winter road surface;
- Countless 3D lamellae on snow and ice form a huge number of additional traction edges, and when driving on asphalt, due to increased stiffness, they improve handling;
- The silicone-based rubber compound provides the tread with optimal elasticity even at very low temperatures.
