The Nankang ESSN1 winter non-studded tire is one of the latest developments from the world-renowned Taiwanese tire manufacturer. This model is distinguished by its excellent handling even in the most unfavorable conditions. The size range of this tire includes 50 sizes with a mounting diameter from 13 to 18 inches. At the same time, some of them are designed for commercial vehicles with a small carrying capacity.
Asymmetric Tread Pattern
One of the key features of this tire is the asymmetric design of the directional tread pattern. The tread has two main functional zones - outer and inner. The part of the tread pattern located on the outer side of the tread provides excellent handling characteristics when cornering. As for the inner side, its main task is to ensure directional stability and a high level of driving comfort.
Three-Dimensional Lamellas
Since the Nankang ESSN1 tire tread is non-studded, to compensate for the lack of traction on ice, the company's specialists applied zigzag three-dimensional lamellas. When in contact with the road surface, these tread elements form a multitude of sharp edges that easily penetrate the water film, providing reliable and stable traction. Additionally, it is impossible not to note the special shape of the walls of these lamellas, which allows them to be tightly fixed to each other when in contact with the road. As a result, the rigidity of the tread blocks is significantly increased. This made it possible to significantly increase the number of lamellas without compromising handling on dry asphalt, thereby improving traction on snow and ice.
