Description Mitas C-17
The Mitas C-17 motorcycle tire has a fairly narrow range of applications. First and foremost, it is the possibility of operation exclusively on the front wheel. In addition, this model is designed for movement on rough terrain with rocky soils. And, finally, another feature of this tire is the presence of three modifications - in addition to the standard, it is offered in Winter Friction and Dakar versions. The differences between them lie in the composition of the rubber mixture, which provides optimal elasticity of the tread at low and high temperatures of the environment, respectively.
Excellent directional stability in any conditions
Since the Mitas C-17 model was initially intended for operation on the front wheel of a motocross motorcycle, ensuring maximum directional stability was given primary attention during its development. In many ways, this is why its tread pattern consists of two functional zones - the central part and the shoulder zones.
The central part of the tread pattern is a longitudinal row consisting of many double blocks. During movement, their quadrangular shape creates many longitudinal and transverse edges. Due to this, the tire demonstrates not only excellent directional stability but also excellent braking efficiency.
Excellent grip when cornering
The shoulder zones of the tread pattern of this tire also contain a large number of small but fairly high blocks. They start working when cornering, when the motorcycle often leans significantly to change direction. The small size in combination with the large height of the blocks allows for additional grip with the surface.
Main features of the Mitas C-17 tire
- the tire is perfectly adapted for movement on rocky soils;
- the possibility of operation on public roads due to compliance with DOT and ECE-R75 requirements;
- excellent directional stability is provided by a narrow tread containing many transverse and longitudinal edges of adhesion created by quadrangular blocks of the central part of the tread;
- the shoulder zones, containing many separate blocks, allow the tire to maintain stability even at strong angles of motorcycle inclination;
- the presence of three modifications (standard, Winter Friction, and Dakar) allows you to choose a model that best matches the temperature conditions of the external environment.
