The Minerva Eco Stud LT passenger tire has a rather specific scope of application. The fact is that this model is designed for use on commercial vehicles - minibuses, vans and light trucks. This is evidenced by the LT abbreviation in the name, which stands for Light Truck, i.e. "light truck". The other two words unequivocally hint at the possibility of installing studs and having fuel-saving capabilities.
Symmetrical directional tread pattern
At first glance at the tread of this tire, it becomes clear that when creating it, the specialists of the Chinese manufacturer focused on the products of Scandinavian tire manufacturers. This is indicated by the symmetrical tread pattern, which contains a number of features characteristic, first of all, of the so-called "friction" tires.
The tread pattern used in this model consists of five longitudinal ribs, four of which, including the shoulder areas, have a block structure. Thanks to this, the tire has balanced basic working characteristics.
Rigid central rib
One of the distinctive features of the Minerva Eco Stud LT tread pattern is the longitudinal rib located in its very center. Due to the absence of gaps throughout its length, as well as massive dimensions, it has very high resistance to dynamic deformations that occur during movement. The presence of such a feature allows the tire to demonstrate excellent directional stability, high handling agility, and reduced rolling resistance.
Large number of massive blocks
On both sides of the central rib, there are four more, but each of them is formed from a multitude of individual blocks. At the same time, in the shoulder areas, they have a quadrangular shape, and in the central part - a complex one, containing a large number of sharp edges and corners. Such a structure provides the contact patch with a multitude of edges of adhesion, located in different directions. Thanks to this, the tire demonstrates confident behavior on any winter surface.
Main features of the Minerva Eco Stud LT tire
- symmetrical directional tread pattern, replete with many sharp edges, provides the tire with confident behavior on any winter surface;
- the possibility of installing studs allows to significantly improve traction on ice;
- the large distance between the blocks allows the tire to move confidently through deep snow;
- wide rectangular blocks in the shoulder areas provide even distribution of external pressure on the contact patch, directional stability when changing direction, and also increase the effectiveness of braking;
- a large number of transverse lamellas allow confident movement on icy surfaces;
- a rigid central rib improves directional stability and fuel efficiency.
