Description Michelin XZE2
The commercial tire Michelin ZXE 2 differs from its numerous competitors in its specific application area. This model was developed specifically for small and medium-tonnage trucks operating in urban conditions. Another advantage of this tire is the possibility of using it all year round and installing it on any axis of commercial equipment.
Universal tread pattern
Most of the advantages of this model, including economic efficiency, are provided due to the high performance of the tread pattern. Moreover, it is demonstrated not only on asphalt roads but also on dirt roads. This was achieved due to the design, which contains a large number of gripping edges. They are formed by numerous tread blocks of a quadrangular shape. For the sake of fuel economy and acoustic comfort, the edges of adhesion formed by them are located at a significant angle with a different pitch relative to each other.
"Winter" rubber compound
The rubber compound of the tread gives no less universality to this tire. Its key advantage is the ability to maintain elasticity even at negative temperatures of the road surface. At the same time, the Finnish tire manufacturers managed to give the tread excellent wear resistance and resistance to any aggressive influence. This is entirely due to modern polymeric compounds that provide high strength between all components of the compound at the molecular level.
Increased load capacity and resistance to uneven wear
When developing this model, much attention was paid to ensuring maximum load capacity and service life. To achieve these goals, the French tire manufacturers had to use several solutions at once. First of all, this is an almost flat tread profile, which, together with the massive size and close arrangement of the tread blocks, significantly improves the evenness of the external load distribution over the contact patch. As an additional measure, Z-shaped lamellas cut into the blocks of the shoulder zones are used.
Main features of the Michelin XZE2 tire
- a universal tread pattern provides the possibility of installing the tire on any axle of trucks, as well as allows its use not only on asphalt but also on dirt roads;
- due to the use of modern materials in the composition of the tread compound, the tread remains elastic at low temperatures, improves grip on a wet road, and is resistant to any types of aggressive influence;
- a high level of load capacity, increased resistance to uneven wear is provided due to the flat profile of the tread, the large size of the tread blocks, and special Z-shaped lamellas in the shoulder zones.
