Description Michelin XTA2 Energy Retread
The Michelin XTA2 Energy Retread commercial tire is installed on the trailer axle of heavy-duty trucks. It features a tread pattern restored using Michelin Retread technology. It is characterized by high fuel efficiency, reliability, and a long service life.
Optimized Compound
One of the key features of the tire is the range of operating temperatures of the rubber compound of the tread. It is shifted closer to zero degrees Celsius. This solution not only allowed the tire to be adapted for operation in areas with a cold climate, but also reduced rolling resistance and fuel consumption at high speeds due to the lower heat generation of the compound.
Increased Mileage
The tire features a reinforced carcass with a high-strength and rigid design, which reduces rolling resistance and increases reliability in terms of resistance to impact. This property is also enhanced by the rounded profile of the tire's sidewall and the inclination of the shoulder ribs towards the center of the tread.
Shorter Stopping Distance
The tread ribs in the central part feature narrow, wavy grooves. When in contact with the road, these elements form numerous edges that increase the effectiveness of the tread during braking.
Key Features of Michelin XTA2 Energy Retread
- the tread is restored using Michelin Retread technology;
- the optimized compound reduces rolling resistance, increasing the service life due to high wear resistance;
- a long service life is ensured by a special tread pattern with beveled side edges in the shoulder areas and a highly rigid carcass.
