The special Michelin XT E4 tire is used in equipment applied in underground mining. It is distinguished by high load-carrying capacity, reduced heating during prolonged movement, resistance to damage, and reliable traction properties on rocky surfaces.
The tread pattern is a combination of massive blocks. At the edges, the elements form elongated edges, providing reliable traction properties when moving in both directions. It is worth noting the shape and arrangement of the grooves, as well as the presence of additional ribs on the sidewalls of the blocks. These features contribute to more intensive cooling of the tire, using the rotation of the wheel for this purpose. The combination of this solution with the uniform distribution of pressure on the road surface ensures an increase in the tire's service life by 10%. Among other features of this model, it is worth noting the design of the sidewall. The increased cross-section of the filler, its multi-layer structure, provide exceptionally reliable fixation of the tire on the wheel disc. This minimizes the risk of cracks and tears on the sidewalls, additionally increasing the load-carrying capacity, allowing to preserve a significant part of the carrying capacity when the internal pressure is reduced.
