Description Michelin XKD1 A
The Michelin XKD1 A specialty tire is designed for large and extra-large capacity dump trucks. It is a "quarry" tire adapted for use on the production sites of mining enterprises. It is characterized by exceptionally high load-carrying capacity and resistance to damage, as well as reliable traction and adhesion properties on solid rocky soils.
The tread pattern features an increased depth of notching. This significantly improves traction and adhesion properties, as well as reduces the risk of puncture damage to the tire, increasing its service life, especially on highly abrasive surfaces. Another important feature is the structure of the sidewalls, which incorporates protective full-metallic belts. In combination with the use of a particularly durable rubber compound, this significantly increases the reliability of the tire, increasing its mileage in extremely harsh operating conditions. Another distinction of the applied compound is its ability to intensely conduct heat. This significantly reduces the heating of the tire under high loads, reducing fuel consumption and preventing the formation of small cracks in the tread.
Main features of Michelin XKD1 A
- increased thickness of the tread and height of its pattern elements provide a long service life when operating on highly abrasive surfaces;
- full-metallic belts integrated into the sidewalls reduce the risk of their damage when operating on rocky surfaces;
- rubber compound with increased thermal conductivity reduces fuel consumption, prevents tread cracking throughout the tire's service life
