Description Michelin XDE2+ Remix
The Michelin XDE2+ Remix commercial tire is designed for installation on the driving axles of trucks. This model is characterized by improved longitudinal traction properties, especially on slippery surfaces, a long service life, and a relatively low cost compared to similar products from competing brands.
Regrooved Tread
The low cost of the model is due to the fact that its tread has been regrooved. In other words, this product is made from tires that have exhausted their operational resource. Regrooving became possible thanks to the exceptional strength of the carcass and strict selection of tires according to several dozen parameters. This makes it possible to minimize the actual likelihood of defects to "zero", essentially re-manufacturing the product. At the same time, the same materials are used that are applied in the production of new tires, including the tread compound. In other words, not only the possibility of further operation of the tire is restored but also its original technical characteristics. In addition to the tread, the sidewalls and breaker of the tire are subjected to a similar procedure.
Micro-pumps
When developing the tread design, Finnish tire manufacturers sought to give the tire maximum traction properties on wet surfaces. To do this, solutions characteristic of "passenger" models were used. One of these "borrowings" was numerous micro-pumps. They are represented by drop-shaped cavities. When in contact with the road surface, they deform in such a way that when the load is removed, they suck in water, which additionally dries the contact patch, allowing it to grasp the surface more effectively.
It is actively assisted by several thousand three-dimensional "double wave" lamellas. When opening, they not only form the corresponding number of traction edges but also direct water into the nearest drainage groove or beyond the tread, depending on the location of the slit. At the same time, the specially profiled walls of the slit limit the transverse mobility of the blocks, giving them some freedom to deviate in the longitudinal direction. Such behavior of these elements improves several operational properties of the tire at once. First of all, it is an increase in the contact patch when braking, starting from a place, and gaining speed. In addition, the increased transverse stiffness of the blocks improves traction when maneuvering and steering accuracy.
High Economic Efficiency
This model makes it possible to significantly reduce the cost of a kilometer of commercial vehicle mileage. And much more, thanks to the increased service life. To reduce the impact of the road surface on the tread, French tire manufacturers have taken a whole range of measures - from increasing the stiffness and strength of the carcass to using special lamellas that more evenly distribute the load over the entire area of the tread in contact with the surface of the coating.
Main Features of Michelin XDE2+ Remix
- compound with CARBION, a material that gives the tread high resistance to abrasive wear and mechanical damage;
- lamellas that improve both traction on wet surfaces and resistance to wear;
- a very rigid and strong carcass that increases carrying capacity and fuel efficiency, ensuring multiple regrooving of the sidewalls and tread according to the Remix technology
