Description Michelin X Line Energy T
When creating the Michelin X Line Energy T cargo tire, the developers' primary focus was on ensuring maximum durability and fuel efficiency. This is due to the specific use of this model, which is designed for installation on trailers and semi-trailers.
Increased tread width
One of the key features of this tire is the increased width of the contact patch. This was achieved through a series of changes to the carcass design, as well as a reduction in the width of the drainage grooves. In combination with other features of the tread, primarily the flat shape of its profile, this allowed for a significant improvement in several important operational qualities. First and foremost, this is traction. Additionally, this feature allowed for an increase in the size of the shoulder areas, which in turn had a positive effect on the tread's resistance to uneven wear.
Minimal rolling resistance
As noted earlier, this model is characterized by excellent fuel efficiency. This was achieved through several technical solutions. First and foremost, it is the ability of the compound to intensely dissipate heat, which significantly reduces the heating of the tire, and with it, the rolling resistance. Additionally, the tread contains six longitudinal ribs of a continuous design, which also significantly reduces fuel consumption.
Main features of the Michelin X Line Energy T tire
- increased contact patch size improves traction, carrying capacity, and resistance to uneven wear;
- low rolling resistance, thanks to the rigid continuous design of all tread ribs;
- resistance to aquaplaning is ensured by deep drainage grooves with a significant internal volume.
