Description Michelin X Line Energy D2
The commercial tire Michelin X Line Energy D2 is installed on the driving axle of highway tractors and heavy-duty trucks. It stands out for its nominal, unlike most analogs, coupling properties on winter coverage. Additionally, the model has the signature operational properties of French brand products - a long service life, fuel efficiency, and the possibility of increasing mileage through several methods of restoring the tread pattern.
Regenion Tread
The design of the tread part of the tire features Regenion technology. This is a set of technical solutions that ensure not only a high level of coupling characteristics but also their preservation throughout the entire service life. The tread pattern is distinguished by a very dense arrangement of elements. In motion, the blocks, relying on each other, limit mutual mobility, which reduces rolling resistance and gives stability to the coupling properties.
Another component of Regenion technology is droplet-shaped lamellas. Their shape significantly increases the speed of water removal from under the contact patch. This significantly reduces the risk of aquaplaning. The blocks themselves have pump lamellas. They also have a droplet-shaped profile, but in a side projection. These elements additionally dry the contact patch, picking up and holding excess moisture. As they wear out, these lamellas disappear, and ordinary grooves appear in their place, which preserve the coupling properties on slippery surfaces throughout the entire service life of the tread.
Updated Rubber Compound
This model differs from numerous analogs of other brands in the composition and characteristics of the rubber compound. Instead of technical carbon, it uses silica, as in passenger tires. This component, by giving the tread high elasticity, strength, and wear resistance, reduces rolling resistance and increases the service life of the tire.
Infinicoil Casing
One of the distinctive features of the tire is its reduced weight. This is one of the results of the application of Infinicoil casing technology. The optimized arrangement of steel cord threads reduces their number and the mass of the entire structure without compromising its mechanical strength. At the same time, increasing the stiffness of the casing made it possible to significantly reduce rolling resistance.
