Description Michelin Starcross Mini
The Michelin Starcross Mini motorcycle tire has a fairly narrow range of applications. It's all about its specialization, limited to motocross. However, in this regard, it has virtually no equal, as it was created based on models that have won a whole series of high-profile victories in motocross racing over the past decade.
Maximum performance on soft loose soils
Like most other motocross tires, this model is offered in two versions - for the front and rear wheels. Each of them has both similarities and differences, which is due to the need to perform several different tasks, nevertheless, similar in their essence.
The main difference lies in the width and profile of the tread. Since the front tire Michelin Starcross Mini provides directional stability and maximum braking efficiency, it has a small width and a semicircular profile, which allows significantly increasing the pressure on the ground.
In addition, its tread pattern has a large number of transversely arranged blocks, due to which the contact patch has a large number of gripping edges at any given time.
In turn, the tread pattern for the rear wheel has a more flat profile, which made it possible to significantly increase the size of the contact patch. Also, in its central part, there are very massive and high tread blocks, due to which the tire demonstrates high traction properties in the longitudinal direction.
Wear-resistant rubber compound
Since the tire is designed for operation in fairly harsh off-road conditions, the French tire manufacturers paid special attention to the rubber compound, which should be resistant to abrasive wear and tear-resistant. To this end, special polymers of a new generation were introduced into its composition. In addition, the technological process of preparing the rubber compound was changed, which ensured the creation of stronger molecular bonds between all components in its composition.
Key features of Michelin Starcross Mini
- the tire is based on racing models for motocross;
- the round profile of the front tire's tread pattern provides increased pressure on the ground, and the multitude of transverse edges of the blocks - high braking efficiency;
- the flat profile of the rear tire's tread pattern made it possible to maximize the size of the contact patch, and the massive and high blocks - excellent traction properties in the longitudinal direction;
- excellent wear resistance and tear resistance, thanks to special components in the rubber compound.
