Description Michelin Starcross 5 sand
The Michelin Starcross 5 sand motorcycle tire is one of six options in the model, designed for cross-country motorcycles. The key feature is its focus on operation on sandy surfaces.
New carcass
One of the innovations is the updated carcass design. It is made from lighter materials, which allowed to significantly reduce the weight of the tire - by 15% compared to the previous model. At the same time, the strength properties and service life were preserved. Additionally, the CCT technology was applied when creating the carcass design. It provides more effective damping of impact, which improves the softness of the ride and, as a consequence, the comfort of managing a cross-country motorcycle.
Improved tread
The advantages over the previous model are largely provided due to the tread design. It has been significantly changed. In particular, the tread is distinguished by an enhanced ability to self-clean from soil particles. This is ensured by the changed arrangement of the blocks, where the distance between them has become larger without compromising the traction properties. Additionally, the elements themselves have different heights. This has significantly improved the effectiveness of the tread on loose soils.
Stability in turns
The next innovation was the change in the design of the blocks located on the tire's sidewalls. Their height has increased significantly compared to the similar elements of the previous model. At the same time, the shape of the blocks has become even more pointed. This has allowed to significantly improve the efficiency of acceleration when exiting a turn, as well as the stability of the motorcycle during its passage.
