The scope of the Michelin Road 5 Trail tire application is virtually all types of road motorcycles, from "roadsters" to sportbikes. It is characterized by improved traction and braking properties on wet pavement, which are preserved even after a mileage of over 5 thousand kilometers.

To a large extent, all the advantages of the tire are provided due to the characteristics of the rubber compound of the tread. Several compositions are used here. The tread of the front tire is made using the 2CT technology with the use of two compounds. The central part is stiff, which adds stability during straight-line movement. The shoulder zones, due to their elasticity, better hold the tire when the motorcycle is tilted. The rear tire has even more of these soft zones. As part of the 2CT+ technology, three compounds are used — one "stiff" and two "soft".
