Description Michelin Pilot Road 4 Trail
The Michelin Pilot Road 4 Trail motorcycle tire is designed for large touring bikes. The model is characterized by high traction properties, increased service life compared to the previous generation tire, and excellent braking efficiency.
Road-hugging tread
To a significant extent, the tire's traction properties are provided by the tread rubber compound. Its composition includes silicon-containing components and new-generation polymers. They give the tread elasticity, which remains at an optimal level in terms of traction over a very wide temperature range - from -5 to 45 degrees Celsius.
Improved handling
The 2CT technology is used in this model. Its essence lies in the use of two compounds. The edges of the tread are made of a more elastic rubber compound, which improves traction when maneuvering. In turn, the central part of the tread is made more rigid, which reduces wear, rolling resistance, and increases directional stability, improving handling.
The second factor that determines the increased by 20% compared to the previous model tire life is the tread pattern. The inclination of the drainage grooves and lamellae has been significantly increased, which made it possible to ensure a more even distribution of external load over the contact patch.
High braking efficiency
The tire is characterized by increased braking efficiency. The braking distance is 17% shorter than that of the best analogs from other brands. This is due to the XST+ technology, which allows the drainage grooves and lamellae to be arranged in such a way that they work with maximum efficiency during longitudinal accelerations on wet pavement.
Main features of the Michelin Pilot Road 4 Trail tire
- rubber compound that retains its properties over a very wide temperature range;
- increased service life provided by 2CT technology and optimized tread design;
- XST+ technology reduces the length of the braking distance on wet pavement.
