Description Michelin Cross AC10
One of the key features of the Michelin Cross AC10 summer motorcycle tire is that it has a DOT certificate, which allows it to be used on public roads. However, in reality, this model is much more suitable for off-road use, where it demonstrates all its strengths. And there are quite a few of them, thanks to the robust design and tread pattern, which is saturated with gripping edges to the limit.
Open tread pattern design
Since this model was initially designed for intensive use off paved roads, it was equipped with a tread pattern characteristic of "off-road" motorcycle tires. In fact, there are two of them, since it is offered in two versions - for the front or rear wheel.
The front wheel features a very narrow tread pattern consisting of many small blocks, which form a large number of transverse rows. The semi-circular profile, combined with small sizes, allows for increased pressure on the ground, which, in combination with the gripping edges of the blocks, provides the tire with excellent directional stability and braking efficiency even when aggressively cornering.
In turn, the tread pattern of the rear Michelin Cross AC10 tire differs in much larger sizes and a low-radius profile, which made it possible to significantly increase the contact patch area, which had a positive effect on most of the tire's operating characteristics. As for the tread pattern layout, it also consists of many individual blocks grouped into transverse rows. This solution provides maximum traction and adhesion properties when accelerating.
Main features of the Michelin Cross AC10 tire
- excellent grip on any type of surface, thanks to the optimized tread pattern with many gripping edges;
- a different tread pattern for the front and rear tires takes into account the specific features of their operation;
- a special rubber compound ensures the durability and strength of the tread layer;
- a robust multi-layer carcass construction provides reliable protection against aggressive environmental influences;
- compact blocks of the front tire provide it with excellent directional stability, and their analogs in the tread pattern for the rear tire - increased grip in the longitudinal direction.
