Description Metzeler Racetec SM
The Metzeler Racetec SM motorcycle tire is used on bikes that are used for "supermoto" category track racing. It is distinguished by increased performance while moving, both in sliding and without it, demonstrating ease of handling and resistance to wear and extremely high thermal impact.
Externally, the tire is distinguished by the absence of any tread pattern. In combination with the optimized profile of the tread, this provides maximum contact patch sizes. Due to the stiffness of the carcass and sidewalls, its area and shape practically do not change even with significant multidirectional accelerations, which significantly increases the stability of traction, both when sliding and when moving in a straight line. It is worth noting the use of a full-fledged "racing" compound. It is characterized by extremely fast heating up to "working" temperatures, which allows the tire to be used without warming mats. The rubber mixture is characterized by resistance to abrasive wear and prolonged thermal impact, which significantly increases the distance at which the tire retains all its characteristics.
Main features of Metzeler Racetec SM
- A carcass with a "zero" cord winding angle provides exceptional stability, both when moving in a straight line and when sliding;
- A "racing" compound that is resistant to wear and thermal impact, quickly heating up to "working" temperatures;
- A special tread contour increases the contact patch, maintaining its shape and size over a very wide range of bike lean angles
