Description Metzeler Racetec Slick
The Metzeler Racetec Slick motorcycle tire is not intended for use outside of racing tracks. This is unequivocally hinted at by the absence of any tread pattern. I.e., in this model, traction with the road surface is entirely dependent on the density of the tread's fit. This indicator is almost entirely dependent on the characteristics of the rubber compound. That's why this tire is released in two versions - K1 and K2.
The K1 front axle tire is designed for smooth or normal asphalt at low road surface temperatures, and K2 for all types of asphalt surface, including rough, but for higher road surface temperatures. As for the rear axle tire, K1 is for warm but smooth asphalt, and K2 is for cold and rough asphalt. I.e., the manufacturer offers four configuration options, which allows you to choose a set that best suits specific conditions.
However, regardless of the version, the Metzeler Racetec Slick motorcycle tire was created using the advanced technological developments available to this renowned motorcycle tire manufacturer.
First of all, it is worth noting the famous 0° Steel Radial steel cord technology, which is distinguished not only by the use of steel threads instead of textiles but also by longitudinal winding. I.e., all steel cord threads are located at a zero angle relative to the direction of movement. However, this design solution should be considered together with the MAW technology, which involves a progressive method of winding steel cord threads, allowing for optimal distance between them. This made it possible to provide high stiffness to those areas of the tread that undergo the greatest deformation changes during movement.
Main features of Metzeler Racetec Slick
