Description Metzeler Racetec Rain
The Metzeler Racetec Rain motorcycle tire, like the rest of the Racetec line, is designed for use exclusively on racing tracks. I.e., this model is addressed to owners of powerful and high-speed motorcycle models who are not averse to riding "with the wind" on a racing track during "trackdays".
This model is one tire for the front axle and two tires for the rear. The front axle tire has the K1 marking, and the two rear tires have K1 and K2 markings. According to the manufacturer's classification, K1 tires are designed for colder conditions and relatively smooth asphalt, and K2 tires are also for cold conditions, but for rougher asphalt.
At the same time, Metzeler Racetec Rain tires of categories K1 and K2 differ in both the tread pattern and the composition of the rubber mixture, each version of which demonstrates the greatest efficiency in certain conditions. I.e., this German manufacturer offers a rare opportunity to choose tires that are best suited for specific environmental conditions.
However, despite the differences in tread patterns and rubber mixture composition, the development of this model used a whole range of advanced technologies, some of which have been patented. First of all, we are talking about the 0° Steel Radial technology, the efficiency of which has proven to be so high that it is used in most models of this German manufacturer, operated in heavy conditions.
Main features of Metzeler Racetec Rain
- 0° Steel Radial technology - instead of traditional textile cord, steel cord is used, which made it possible to significantly increase the resistance of the tread to deformation changes that occur during movement. In addition, the weight of the tire has decreased, and due to the longitudinal winding, the rolling resistance has decreased;
- Metzeler Advanced Winding technology - a progressive winding method that provides an optimal distance between turns in certain areas of the tread;
- Multiple Radius Contour technology - a profile with a changing curvature between the central part of the tread and the sidewalls of the tire provides excellent stability when cornering;
- Rubber mixture with a high content of silicon-containing components and a number of other substances provides quick warming up of the tread to working temperature and excellent grip on a wet surface.
