Description Metzeler Racetec Interact K2
The Metzeler Racetec Interact K2 motorcycle tire was specifically designed for so-called "trackday" events. This model is aimed at owners of powerful sports motorcycles who prefer to spend their weekends on the racing track. Thanks to the application of a range of progressive technologies, the German tire manufacturers have managed to create a tire with characteristics more typical of civilian models.
This tire line is represented by several models - K0, K1, K2. According to the manufacturer's classification, the K2 tire, depending on the axis of installation (front and rear), is intended for different conditions. The Metzeler Racetec Interact K2 tire for the front axle is suitable for operation on asphalt with any surface characteristics. As for the rear axle tire, it is more suitable for cold and rough asphalt. In other words, the manufacturer offers a rare opportunity to choose tires for specific conditions.
However, regardless of the road surface characteristics, this civilian version of the racing tire provides uncompromising handling, thanks to the application of a range of innovative solutions. In essence, this model represents a combination of advanced technologies, which will be discussed below.
Main features of the Metzeler Racetec Interact K2 motorcycle tire
- 0° Steel Radial technology - a steel frame with longitudinal winding. This technology has radically increased the strength and resistance of the tread to dynamic deformations, while reducing the weight of the tire. In addition, the longitudinal winding has significantly reduced rolling resistance.
- MAW technology - Metzeler Advanced Winding. This technology represents a progressive winding method, in which the metal cord wires are arranged at an optimal distance from each other in certain parts of the tread. As a result, the tire demonstrates excellent stability when cornering, providing excellent feedback at the same time.
- CMT technology - Contour Modelling Technology. This represents a variable tread profile, which has made it possible to ensure optimal contact patch sizes in any driving mode.
- Interact technology - Multi Zone Tension. This involves a modular metal cord structure, each part of which has certain elasticity parameters. In other words, the tread is exceptionally rigid in those areas where it is necessary.
