Description Maxxis Mudzilla
Among other representatives of the Maxxis tire line for Side-by-Side category quad bikes, this model stands out for its unique properties. First and foremost, it's the ability to drive on earthy surfaces with high moisture content, i.e. mud. It's at an unprecedented level, which was achieved due to a number of design features, which will be discussed below.
Two execution options
Like any other modern tire for Side-by-Side quad bikes, the Maxxis Mudzilla model is offered in two execution options. The difference between them is only in the width of the tread, which is lower for the front wheels.
Specialized tread
The operational properties of this model, corresponding to its name, are ensured mainly by the tread pattern. It contains a large number of individual blocks of a crescent shape, located in the central part at a significant angle to the direction of movement, and in the shoulder areas - almost perpendicular. Their height ranges from 25 to 38 mm. Along with the location and shape, this feature provides the tire with excellent traction and coupling properties. In this regard, it's impossible not to mention the significant distance between the blocks. Thanks to this solution, the tread is exceptionally effectively cleaned of stuck soil particles, providing higher passability indicators.
Additional triangular blocks in the shoulder areas
In addition to the main blocks, starting from the center of the tread and ending in the shoulder areas, there are many additional tread elements of an original triangular shape with concave edges. The main functional purpose of these blocks is to ensure stability when driving on earthy surfaces. In fact, it's these blocks that make the tire grip the soil at an angle, giving it even greater confidence off-road.
Reinforced Maxxis Mudzilla frame
The design of the frame of this model was completely borrowed from the legendary Bighorn, which made it exceptionally reliable. It consists of 6 layers, two of which are made of steel cord, and four - of synthetic materials. On the one hand, such a design is distinguished by its excellent strength, resistance to mechanical stress, and on the other - by its relatively low weight and elasticity.
Main features:
- was developed specifically for operation on moistened earthy and sandy types of coverage;
- high (from 25 to 38 mm) tread blocks with very extended edges provide exceptional passability even on the most difficult sections;
- the "soft" composition of the rubber mixture allows movement at reduced pressure inside;
- the reinforced multi-layer frame design using traditional and advanced materials gives the tire reliability and significant carrying capacity.
