The winter studded tire Matador MP-50 Sibir Ice is one of the novelties of the concern, which it has prepared for the new winter season. A distinctive feature of this model is two options for the tread pattern. For small-diameter tires, a tread pattern with a double central rib is provided. And for larger sizes, the manufacturer offers a tire with a more aggressive design.
A common feature for both versions is the V-shaped design of the directional tread pattern. It is this technical solution that largely provided the tire with a number of advantages. First of all, this is the maximum possible contact patch area, the dimensions of which do not depend on the mode of movement. In addition, the V-shaped design improves directional stability.
Another unifying element is the block structure of the tread element. In both cases, the tread of the Matador MP-50 Sibir Ice tire is saturated with a large number of individual blocks. Due to this, the tire's contact patch at any given time contains a multitude of sharp traction edges, which significantly increases the traction force on a snowy surface, as well as provides high braking efficiency, especially on slippery surfaces.
The design of the shoulder zones in both cases differs in almost complete identity. Both there and here, this part of the tread consists of individually standing blocks of rectangular shape. At the same time, the blocks of the shoulder zones are located almost at a right angle to the direction of movement. This made it possible to slightly reduce the noise level, and most importantly, significantly improve the braking efficiency, since during deceleration, the greatest load falls on this part of the tread.
