A distinctive feature of the summer tire Matador MP-31 is its attractive cost. However, this advantage applies only to a part of the tire sizes in which this model is produced at the enterprise of the Slovak company in our country. In any case, buyers of this tire are entitled to count on high technical characteristics, as well as manufacturing quality, regardless of the place of production.
Triangular blocks
One of the distinctive features in the design of the tread of this tire is the numerous triangular blocks in its central part. They form two longitudinal ribs, essentially having a solid structure. In combination with their massive size, this gives the tire a number of important advantages, one of which is a balance between a number of main operational characteristics. The triangular blocks, on the one hand, give it additional stability at high speed, and on the other hand, reduce rolling resistance, noise, and also provide increased traction properties.
Multifunctional design of shoulder zones
In turn, the shoulder zones of the tread also have a number of interesting solutions in the design. It is distinguished by a composite structure containing many individual elements. Essentially, each of the shoulder zones consists of two functional areas. The inner part, containing wide transverse blocks, improves stability when maneuvering, reduces the length of the braking distance. The outer side of the shoulder zones, separated by a narrow longitudinal groove, increases the contact patch at significant lateral accelerations, also improving traction, and also optimizes the distribution of external pressure on it, increasing the service life of the tread.
