Matador MP-12

The design of the non-directional tread pattern of this tire is built on the principle of reasonable sufficiency, which on the one hand allowed to keep the cost of the final product at a very democratic level, and on the other - to endow the tire with worthy operational qualities. Therefore, the non-directional tread pattern of the tire consists of two very wide shoulder zones with a rounded profile and two longitudinal ribs located in the central part of the tread. The small number of tread elements made it possible to provide a large contact patch area, as well as to achieve a reduction in rolling resistance, which has a decisive influence on fuel efficiency indicators.

Two ribs and two shoulder zones are separated by three grooves, which, when moving on a water-covered surface, perform the function of drainage, quickly and efficiently removing water from the contact patch. This solution made it possible to significantly reduce the likelihood of aquaplaning, which led to a significant increase in driving safety in rainy conditions. Also, it is impossible not to mention the aforementioned rounded profile of the shoulder zones of the tread of the Matador MP-12 tire. This proven and effective solution is an excellent means of combating uneven tread wear, which occurs due to deformations that the tire experiences when passing turns. At the same time, the rounded profile contributes to an increase in the contact patch when driving in turns, which has a beneficial effect on the traction in this mode of movement.
