The commercial tire Matador MP-115 was specifically designed for minibuses and small cargo vans based on passenger cars, taking into account all the specific features of their operation. This allowed creating a tire that is perfectly adapted for long-distance driving at high speeds with heavy loads. In such conditions, this model demonstrates not only durability and reliability but also excellent traction properties, which remain the same even on wet roads.
Durable and deformation-resistant carcass
A significant part of the advantages of this model is ensured by the features of its carcass design. All components, including the breaker, are made of steel cord. This allowed significantly increasing the tire's carrying capacity, but not only that. The presence of a very strong and rigid base under the tread improves the distribution of external pressure on the contact patch, making it more even. This, in turn, leads to positive changes in handling and resistance to uneven wear.
Tread with a large number of traction edges
The Slovak manufacturer positions this tire as an "all-season" tire. The possibility of year-round operation is largely due to a number of features in the design of its tread pattern. The main one is the increased content of traction edges. Their number was increased due to the reduction in size of the tread elements. In the central part, there are two longitudinal ribs, and in the shoulder areas, there are the same number of rows of separate blocks. All these tread elements have a complex polygonal shape, which, in combination with their small size, provides a contact patch with not only numerous but also multidirectional traction edges. As an additional measure to improve traction properties on slippery surfaces, the Slovak tire manufacturers used lamellas.
Main features of the Matador MP-115 tire
- The reinforced carcass design, made entirely of steel cord, increases the tire's carrying capacity, extends its service life, reduces rolling resistance, and improves handling and directional stability at high speeds;
- The tread with an increased number of traction edges and lamellas, forming a significant part of them, provides the tire with good performance on any roads, both in summer and winter.
