The passenger tire Matador MP-59 Nordicca M+S is one of the first attempts by the Slovak manufacturer to create a universal model suitable for year-round operation. At the same time, this model is distinguished by its exceptional applicability, which is ensured by a very wide range of sizes, including 45 different sizes for wheels with a mounting diameter from 15 to 18 inches.
Asymmetric arrangement of tread elements
The asymmetric design of the tread pattern is one of the key features of this model. It consists of two functional zones, each designed to solve a strictly defined set of tasks. That's why the outer side of the tread consists of three longitudinal ribs, and the inner side has only two. The outer part of the tread pattern provides stability and stability of behavior when making sharp maneuvers. As for the inner part of the tread pattern, it is designed to give the tire maximum traction and adhesion properties in the longitudinal direction.
Multiple lamellas
The developers of the Matador MP-59 Nordicca M+S tire have equipped it with special tread elements - lamellas, designed to solve several tasks at once. First of all, this is to ensure that the contact patch has the maximum possible number of edges in contact. In addition, when opening, these lamellas provide a more dense fit of the blocks to the irregularities on the surface of the road. This not only improved traction but also made the tire softer and more comfortable on the go.
Excellent drainage properties
The presence of a large number of separate tread blocks made it possible to equip the pattern with a huge number of drainage channels, located both parallel and perpendicular to the direction of movement. In combination with their large size and depth of the pattern, this allows the tire to demonstrate excellent traction not only on wet pavement but also on roads covered with thawed snow.
