Description Matador FR2 Master
Cargo tire Matador FR2 Master, although recommended by the manufacturer for installation on the driving axle of trucks, can be used on any axle in the summer. This is a key feature of this model, designed for regional transportation. In addition, this tire is distinguished by a rather extensive size range, represented by 23 types of sizes for wheels with a landing diameter from 17.5 to 24.5 inches. Such a range provides it with excellent applicability to most models of modern trucks.
Tread renewal capability
When developing the design of the Matador FR2 Master tire, the manufacturer initially provided for the possibility of renewing the tread pattern. For this, an additional layer of metal cord was introduced into the design of the carcass, which gave it additional strength, and the composition of the rubber mixture received special additives.
Original tread pattern design
Since the tire is intended for installation, first of all, on the steering axle, special attention was paid to ensuring high indicators of directional stability during its development. The solution to this problem was a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern containing three longitudinal ribs in the central part and two more ribs in the shoulder areas. As a result of equipping the tread with five longitudinal ribs, excellent directional stability was achieved.
Excellent handling
Another requirement for steering axle tires is quick response to steering wheel turns. It is from these goals that the developers equipped the tire with very rigid shoulder areas, which are single solid elements without any interruptions throughout their length. In addition, the high structural rigidity in this part of the tread ensures a more even distribution of the load over the contact patch, which increases the resistance to uneven wear, thereby extending the life of the tire.
Main features of the Matador FR2 Master tire
The original tread pattern with five longitudinal ribs provides excellent directional stability, regardless of the characteristics of the road surface;
- A multitude of lamellas creates countless additional edges, thanks to which the tire demonstrates excellent traction, both on wet and snowy roads;
- The reduced noise level is ensured by the curved edges and the variable arrangement of the tread blocks.
