Description Matador FM2
The Matador FM2 truck tire is distinguished by its versatility of application, which also applies to operating conditions. This model will perform perfectly on various types of surfaces. Additionally, it is impossible not to mention the possibility of its installation on any axles, both of trucks and trailers and semi-trailers.
Excellent efficiency
The tire owes its versatility to the original tread pattern. It consists of four longitudinal ribs separated by wide drainage grooves. Due to the absence of any breaks throughout their length, these tread elements have very high stiffness. In combination with massive sizes, this made it possible to achieve a very even distribution of external pressure on the contact patch. As a result, the Matador FM2 tire acquired high resistance to uneven wear, which significantly extended its service life.
In addition, the four longitudinal ribs made it possible to significantly reduce rolling resistance, which, in turn, improved fuel efficiency. Another advantage of such a tread design is the maximum large size of the contact patch, which provided the tire with excellent traction on dry asphalt. As for the traction properties on wet surfaces, the tire's drainage system comes into play, consisting of three very deep and wide drainage grooves. Thanks to this, it is possible to quickly remove sufficiently impressive amounts of water from the contact patch, thereby reducing the likelihood of aquaplaning.
Moreover, it is impossible not to mention the zigzag edges of the tread ribs. In this way, the tire's developers tried to compensate for the absence of blocks forming traction edges in the tread pattern. The zigzag edges play the role of these edges, providing high traction characteristics.
Main features of Matador FM2
— Low rolling resistance is ensured by the minimum number of tread elements;
- Four longitudinal ribs with high structural stiffness allow the tire to demonstrate excellent directional stability and perfect handling;
- Zigzag edges of the tread blocks provide high acceleration and braking efficiency on various types of surfaces;
- High resistance to aquaplaning due to three very voluminous drainage grooves.
