The cargo tire Matador FH2 Mamut was initially developed exclusively for heavy-duty trucks, the operation of which is associated with the transportation of goods over long distances. This model, designed for installation on the steering axle, is distinguished by excellent efficiency on highways.
Power and functionality
This tire was named after a long-extinct animal - the mammoth, which in our time is a symbol of power and large size. The symmetrical tread pattern, which this model is equipped with, is distinguished by the presence of powerful shoulder areas and a large number of longitudinal ribs located in its central part. The increase to 6 of the number of tread ribs made it possible to significantly improve the indicators of directional stability. At the same time, the tread is distinguished by a clear division into separate functional zones, performing a strictly defined circle of tasks.
The four longitudinal ribs of the Matador FH2 Mamut, forming the central part of the tread, are rows of double blocks of rectangular shape, spaced at a minimum distance from each other. This solution made it possible to solve two problems at once. Firstly, the contact patch received a multitude of engagement edges, which ensures high braking efficiency. Secondly, the minimum distance between the blocks in combination with their rectangular shape made it possible to reduce the rolling resistance, which directly affects the fuel efficiency.
Rigid shoulder areas
In this tread pattern, the shoulder areas, in addition to stability in turns, provide instant reactions of the tire to steering wheel turns. This was achieved by giving this part of the tread the maximum possible rigidity, as a result of which the shoulder areas are solid elements without any breaks throughout their length.
Main features of Matador FH2 Mamut
- The four longitudinal ribs of the central part of the tread contain a multitude of double rectangular blocks, which ensures high braking efficiency and also contributes to the reduction of rolling resistance;
- Five wide drainage grooves allow movement on a wet road at high speed without the risk of aquaplaning;
- The reinforced design of the shoulder areas, due to its rigidity, provides excellent handling, reducing the likelihood of uneven wear.
