Description Matador DW1 Gerlach
Cargo tire Matador DW1 Gerlach is a representative of a very small category of models specifically designed for winter operation. Another key feature of this model is the possibility of use exclusively on the driving axles of trucks.
Modern tread pattern
A distinctive feature of the tread pattern of this tire is the presence of a huge number of separate blocks of small size. The main reason for this technical solution was the desire to provide a contact patch with the maximum number of sharp edges, ensuring reliable traction and coupling characteristics on slippery winter surfaces. To reduce the level of resonant noise and vibrations generated by such a number of tread elements, the tire is equipped with an S-shaped symmetrical non-directional pattern.
This pattern of Matador DW1 Gerlach is distinguished by a clearly visible division into separate functional zones. The central part of the tread contains two longitudinal ribs composed of small blocks of trapezoidal shape with beveled angles. The adjacent shoulder areas of the tread also consist of two rows of tread blocks, but with a slightly different configuration. This difference is due to the different tasks solved by these separate functional parts of the tread.
Reliable grip on icy surfaces
Since winter operation involves movement on icy surfaces, the developers of this tire have paid much attention to ensuring reliable grip on very slippery surfaces. In addition to the numerous edges formed by a large number of small tread blocks, the manufacturer has equipped the tire with special lamellas. When in contact with the surface, these tread elements form additional edges that, penetrating the water film, effectively grip the ice, thus providing more reliable grip.
Main features of Matador DW1 Gerlach
- The tire is specifically designed for winter operation, providing reliable grip even in the most unfavorable conditions;
- The original tread pattern of the tread is replete with numerous edges of adhesion formed by a large number of small blocks and lamellas on their surface;
- Excellent self-cleaning properties of the tread, the non-directional arrangement of its elements allows you to confidently move on snowy roads;
- Low noise level, thanks to the multi-step arrangement of tread blocks;
- The increased number of longitudinal ribs up to 6 has made it possible to provide the tire with excellent directional stability.
