Description Matador DH1 Diamond M+S
All-season cargo tire Matador DH1 Diamond M+S was specially designed for the driving axles of long-haul tractors used in the transportation of goods over long distances. This model is distinguished by excellent traction and coupling properties on any type of road surface.
"Diamond" tread pattern
This tire owes its name to the original design of the longitudinal rib, located right in the center of the tread. It consists of two rows of quadrangular shape, due to which the external appearance of the central part of the tread is very similar to the faces of a precious stone. As for the functional purpose of this tread element, it provides a contact patch with multiple edges of adhesion, which allows for more efficient traction.
Excellent directional stability
Another characteristic feature of the tread pattern of the Matador DH1 Diamond M+S tire is the presence of five longitudinal ribs. This number turned out to be quite enough to provide excellent directional stability, especially on slippery surfaces.
Non-directional arrangement of tread elements
When operating on our winter roads, snow passability is very important. Taking this into account, the manufacturer equipped the tread of this tire with an S-shaped symmetrical non-directional pattern. Its undisputed advantage is that it provides the same traction and coupling properties in both directions of movement.
Reinforced shoulder areas of the tread
In contrast to the central part of the tread, the blocks located in its shoulder areas are distinguished by increased dimensions. Thanks to this solution, it was possible not only to increase the contact patch area but also to ensure a more even distribution of pressure on it, while giving it a rectangular shape. This made it possible to significantly reduce the likelihood of uneven wear, which extends the life of the tire.
Main features of the Matador DH1 Diamond M+S tire
- The original S-shaped symmetrical non-directional pattern design is perfectly efficient on both summer and winter roads;
- Multiple tread blocks provide a contact patch with multiple edges of adhesion, allowing for efficient acceleration and deceleration, regardless of the characteristics of the road surface;
- The increased shoulder areas of the tread make the contact patch as large as possible, ensuring a more even distribution of external pressure, thereby increasing the load-carrying capacity of the tire.
