The Marshal WinterCraft SUV WS71 winter tire is installed on SUVs and off-road vehicles. It is a special version of the same-name "passenger" model, differing from it with an enhanced frame and sidewall construction, while having an identical tread pattern design.
The tread part is made in a directional design with an asymmetric arrangement of elements, which form several functional areas that provide a balance of driving characteristics. Small square blocks located closer to the outer side improve traction on snow. Triangular and trapezoidal blocks forming a wide solid edge near the inner shoulder zone provide directional stability and stability during braking. Elements located at the edges of the tread prevent skidding during maneuvers and reduce the braking distance.
The tread pattern contains a large number of lamellas. The slots used here belong to "three-dimensional" elements and are equipped with a self-locking mechanism. Such lamellas not only form a multitude of sharp edges of adhesion but also, when in contact with the road surface, increase the stiffness of the blocks, thereby further increasing the stability of the coupling properties on a slippery surface.
Key features of the Marshal WinterCraft SUV WS71
- the enhanced frame and sidewall construction adapts the tire to the heavy weight and high center of gravity of crossovers and SUVs;
- the asymmetric tread with functional areas provides efficiency on any winter surface and balance of driving properties;
- 3D lamellas with a self-locking mechanism improve traction on slippery surfaces, giving it high stability.
