Kumho Wintercraft WS71

The Kumho Wintercraft WS71 winter tire is designed for full-size SUV class vehicles. The model was released as a replacement for the I*ZEN RV KC15, which the new product surpasses in terms of braking efficiency on slippery surfaces and reliability.

Optimized design of the bead zones

One of the innovations in this model is the optimization of the design of the bead zones. Changes in the design are intended to improve several functional properties at once. One of them is a more reliable fixation of the tire on the wheel disk, which reduces the likelihood of its departure due to excessive load. In addition, the optimization of the design of the bead zones allowed to further improve the handling and responsiveness of the vehicle during maneuvering.

Developed "from scratch" tread

Like the previous model, the tire is equipped with a tread with an asymmetric arrangement of elements. Since it was developed "from scratch", it has a much better efficiency, especially on slippery surfaces. This is largely contributed by the increased number of tread blocks, which have been significantly reduced in size. The high and sharp edges formed by them increase the tire's performance on snow. On ice, their effect is enhanced by thousands of sharp edges formed by lamellas. These elements are connected by special notches, thanks to which they open synchronously on the surface of the entire block. Due to the 3D design of the lamella walls, they are fixed in a stationary position, which further enhances traction and improves handling.
