Description Kumho KLS02
The Kumho KLS02 truck tire stands out for its wide range of applications, as it is well-suited not only for installation on the steering axles of trucks, but also on any axles of trailers and semi-trailers. Another feature of this model is its "orientation" towards asphalt-concrete surfaces and long-distance and long-duration runs.
Optimized tread pattern design
South Korean tire manufacturers have chosen to equip this model with a classic five-rib tread pattern, which is virtually devoid of any traction edges. It essentially consists of five longitudinal ribs separated by wide and deep drainage grooves. The choice of this layout is due to the desire to provide increased directional stability and minimal rolling resistance. This is achieved through the high resistance of these elements to dynamic deformation that occurs during movement.
Large contact patch size
Among other features of the tread pattern of this model, it is worth noting the massiveness of all its elements. In combination with their uniform distribution across the tread, this has made it possible to maximize the contact area of the Kumho KLS02 tire with the road surface, which has had a very positive effect on its traction properties on dry roads. In rainy conditions, four longitudinal drainage grooves come into play, which, by draining water, keep the contact patch dry, thereby ensuring resistance to aquaplaning.
High level of ride comfort
It's also worth mentioning the high level of ride comfort that this tire demonstrates when moving on paved roads. This has been achieved through several technical solutions. One of them is the numerous notches on the walls of the drainage grooves, which significantly reduce the noise from the air flows passing through them. Additionally, a significant part of the acoustic comfort is provided by the closed design of the central part of the tread.
Another factor in ensuring a high level of comfort is the rubber compound. By using modern components, South Korean tire manufacturers have managed to find an ideal balance between softness of ride, handling, and wear resistance.
Main features of the Kumho KLS02 tire
- low rolling resistance, excellent directional stability, thanks to five rigid longitudinal ribs;
- excellent resistance to aquaplaning due to four longitudinal drainage grooves and the large depth of the tread pattern;
- superior resistance to abrasive and uneven wear, ensured by the optimized composition of the rubber compound and uniform distribution of external pressure across the contact patch.
