Description Kumho KLD02
The Kumho KLD02 truck tire is designed for installation on any axle of trailers and semi-trailers, the operation of which is associated with prolonged runs on roads with solid coverage. The size range of this model includes 7 most popular sizes, which provides it with excellent applicability.
Even Wear
A characteristic feature of this model is the original 5-rib design of the symmetric non-directional tread pattern. Each of the five longitudinal ribs has almost the same dimensions, which made it possible to achieve an almost ideal rectangular shape of the contact patch, along which the external pressure is distributed very evenly. As a result, it was possible to minimize the risk of developing uneven wear, which seriously reduces the lifespan of any tire.
Dual Central Rib
Another original solution was the placement of a dual longitudinal rib in the center of the Kumho KLD02 tread, which is more often found on passenger car tires. In this case, the reason for the appearance of this tread element was also the desire to provide the tire with good directional stability.
Two Rows of Separate Blocks
It is also worth noting the presence in the central part of the tread of two longitudinal ribs consisting of separate blocks. These tread elements form numerous edges of adhesion, thanks to which high braking efficiency is ensured. To neutralize the noise generated by the blocks, the South Korean tire manufacturers gave their edges a wavy shape, arranging these blocks with a different pitch.
Excellent Performance on Wet Surface
Another distinguishing feature of this model is a highly efficient water drainage system from the contact patch. It consists of four very voluminous drainage grooves that stretch along the entire tread. Their large size allows them to instantly remove a significant amount of water from the contact patch, thereby substantially reducing the risk of aquaplaning.
Main Features of Kumho KLD02 Tire
- The dual central rib, located exactly in the center of the tread, provides the tire with excellent directional stability;
- All five longitudinal ribs have almost the same dimensions, thanks to which it was possible to give the contact patch an almost rectangular shape, thereby achieving a very even distribution of external load along it;
- Excellent resistance to aquaplaning is provided by four very deep drainage grooves located longitudinally in the central part of the tread.
