Description Kumho KCA11
In the lineup of truck tires from Kumho, the KCA11 model stands out somewhat due to its specific application. The fact is that it is designed for operation on any axle of buses. In addition, this tire is suitable for movement exclusively on asphalt roads, where it demonstrates excellent traction, wear resistance, and low rolling resistance.
Universal tread pattern
When developing this model, South Korean tire manufacturers took into account the specific features of bus operation, which was reflected, first of all, in the tread pattern. It is characterized by a symmetrical non-directional design with a reduced number of individual elements, which made it possible to make them more massive. At the same time, the contact patch has a sufficient number of edges, which provides the tire with good traction and coupling properties, both on dry and wet roads.
Stability at any speed
Another feature of the tread pattern of this model is the presence of four longitudinal ribs, each of which is a solid element with high deformation resistance. As a result, the tire demonstrates confident and very stable behavior at any speed, expressed not only in good directional stability, but also in quick reactions to steering wheel turns. Another advantage of such a tread pattern layout is reduced rolling resistance.
Excellent traction properties on wet roads
As mentioned earlier, the Kumho KCA11 tire demonstrates excellent traction not only on dry, but also on wet roads. This was achieved thanks to several design solutions at once. First of all, it is the abundance of transverse traction edges formed by numerous wavy lamellas, as well as the faces of the longitudinal ribs themselves, which have a zigzag configuration.
In addition, it is worth noting the high efficiency of the drainage system, which consists of three very wide and deep longitudinal grooves. Their volume is quite enough to keep the contact patch dry even in heavy rain.
Main features of the Kumho KCA11 truck tire
- the tire is suitable for installation on any bus axle;
- four wide longitudinal ribs provide excellent directional stability and low rolling resistance;
- excellent traction properties on wet roads, thanks to numerous lamellas and a zigzag shape of the longitudinal ribs, providing the contact patch with a multitude of differently directed traction edges;
- excellent resistance to abrasive and uneven wear due to special components in the rubber mixture and optimal load distribution over the contact patch.
