Ikon Nordman SX3 – summer tire, the scope of which includes passenger cars. It is distinguished by its resistance to hydroplaning, low noise effect and excellent handling at high speed.

The tread is made non-directional with asymmetry. The center is occupied by three ribs, which are equipped with diagonal grooves. The task of the latter is to collect moisture and divert it into the central channels. At the same time, the cleanliness of the contact area and the reliability of the traction properties are maintained. The ribbed structures themselves support the responsiveness of the steering, providing good maneuverability. An important feature of the tire is the special recesses on the walls of the channels, which have a semi-spherical shape. They perform two functions at once. Firstly, they reduce the heating of the tire during intense driving. Secondly, they neutralize the effect of air turbulence, reducing the level of driving noise.

Technologies

Coanda Technology

The sipes on the tread blocks at the inboard shoulder direct and accelerate water flow from the longitudinal groove into the transverse groove and out. Tires maintain excellent performance characteristics and prevent aquaplaning throughout their life.

Blade Grooves

Aggressive feather-cutting grooves, Blade Grooves, cross the center ribs of the tread and effectively discharge water to the longitudinal grooves.

Trumpet Grooves

The shoulder area of the tire has Trumpet Grooves that flare out one side to achieve optimal water displacement. They collect water between the tire and the road, accelerating its removal to the circumferential grooves, and increasing road grip.

Silent Groove Design Innovation

The half-spherical grooves on the longitudinal ribs, resembling a golf ball texture, further enhance comfort during driving. This innovation reduces internal and external tyre noise caused by rolling. This design also reduces air resistance and cools the tyre surface, which in turn increases its tread life.

Depth Sensitive Indicator

Safe tyres are an important element of road culture. The Digital Sidewall Information (DSI) indicator on the centre of the tyre reflects the condition of the tread. The highest of the visible DSI numbers means the current depth of the tread grooves in millimetres, the drop symbol warns of an increased risk of aquaplaning when the tread depth is less than 4 mm.
