The Heidenau K65R Racing motorcycle tire is an improved version of the successful K65 Motorcycle model, which is popular among motorcycle enthusiasts around the world. The main goal of the upgrade was to provide the opportunity to participate in amateur competitions on classic racing motorcycles of the 70-80s of the last century.
The most significant changes underwent the rubber compound, which, according to the racing specification, was named Soft-Warm, i.e. such a compound is characterized by increased elasticity and rapid heating to working temperature. Only this improvement was enough to significantly improve the grip with the road surface. However, the other design features of the tire turned out to be so effective that the manufacturer considered it possible to leave them unchanged.
First of all, this is the tread profile of the Heidenau K65R tire for the steering axle, thanks to which the tire demonstrates excellent responsiveness and clarity of control. This allows you to very accurately plan the trajectory for passing turns.
At the same time, the tire profile for the driving axle is characterized by a variable slope, which allows you to keep the huge contact patch size unchanged. This design feature, for example, allows you to start accelerating very early when exiting turns or pass them at a significantly higher speed.
At the same time, the aforementioned elastic rubber compound contributes to a more dense fit of the tread to the road surface, which further improves the traction properties. In addition, the use of a special racing compound gave the tread excellent resistance to overheating, i.e. it does not deteriorate under high-temperature exposure, maintaining all the main characteristics of the tire at the initial level.
