The Heidenau K50 Scooter motorcycle tire is designed exclusively for scooters and is available in only one size, 3.00 — 10 50J TL. Unlike many other models for this type of motorcycle, this tire is designed for use only on roads with solid pavement. In such conditions, it demonstrates a wonderful level of comfort and high resistance to wear.
Since the Heidenau K50 Scooter tire was initially designed for use on asphalt roads, the German tire manufacturers preferred to use a tread with a V-shaped symmetrical pattern. Its distinctive feature is a profile with a very small slope and very massive blocks, spaced at a small distance from each other.
The practically flat profile allowed to maximize the area of the contact patch, which made it possible to achieve excellent traction characteristics on dry asphalt. At the same time, one of the advantages of the V-shaped design of the tread pattern is the preservation of its size unchanged, regardless of the mode of movement. Additionally, such a pattern made it possible to give the contact patch a more rectangular shape, which positively affected the even distribution of external pressure on the patch, thereby significantly reducing the likelihood of uneven wear.
Another distinctive feature of this model is the design of the drainage system, which consists of a large number of water-removing channels located diagonally along the tread pattern. Such a location of the drainage channels in combination with their curved shape contributes to an increase in the speed of removal of excess water from the contact patch, which significantly increases the tire's resistance to aquaplaning.
