The Hankook RF12 Dynapro AT2 Xtreme tire is designed for a wide range of SUVs and crossovers, providing improved traction, quiet ride, and confident handling at high speeds. The model was designed to be versatile, both in urban environments and on light off-road conditions.
The tire features a sufficiently aggressive tread pattern, the basis of which is blocks with irregular edges. Supplemented by a lamellar network, they contribute to effective grip on various surfaces, reducing the braking distance and improving traction. Between some blocks, there are special bridges that increase resistance to deformation under load. As a result, the ability to overcome rough terrain has been improved, and the degree of protection against mechanical damage has been increased. To implement the latter property, the manufacturer also applied a special compound. Its composition includes a number of polymer compounds and silica, which maintain a high level of elasticity under various temperature regimes. Therefore, the model can be operated in the off-season as well.
The tire's carcass is made up of six layers - two nylon, polyester, and reinforced. Due to this, the resistance to deformation and mechanical damage has increased significantly. This has led to an increased service life, which is approximately 100,000 km. Moreover, this applies to complex conditions in which the model is under intense load.
Despite its aggressive appearance and the presence of a large number of irregularly shaped elements, the tire is characterized by its quietness. This is largely due to computer modeling of the arrangement of individual blocks and channels, as well as the elasticity of the rubber compound.
