The Hankook DW06 truck tire was specifically designed for use on the driving axles of long-haul trucks during the winter season. This model is released in one size - 315/70R22.5.

Korean tire specialists preferred to use a tread with a V-shaped design of a symmetrical directional pattern for the new winter truck model. This structure of the tread elements made it possible to provide a whole range of very important advantages, including excellent directional stability and low rolling resistance.

The tread of the Hankook DW06 tire consists of five longitudinal ribs, each of which, including the shoulder areas, consists of separate trapezoidal blocks. The tread blocks located in the central part of the tread are arranged at a fairly large angle relative to the direction of movement. Thanks to this solution, it was possible to significantly improve the traction and coupling characteristics on snowy surfaces, while also facilitating starting and acceleration.

At the same time, the tread blocks of the shoulder areas of the tread are arranged at a right angle to the direction of movement. This solution is aimed at achieving high braking efficiency on slippery surfaces.

Another characteristic feature of this model is the presence of several wavy lamellas on all tread blocks. When moving, these lamellas form an additional huge number of sharp edges, which provides more reliable and efficient coupling with a snowy and icy surface. When driving on dry, snow- and ice-free roads, wavy lamellas contribute to a significant increase in the stiffness of the tread blocks, which improves handling.
