Description Hankook DH15
Hankook DH15 is a highway tire designed for installation on the driving axles of high-tonnage trucks. This model is distinguished by excellent traction and grip properties, particularly on low-friction surfaces, as well as high strength and service life.
Block structure of the tread pattern
Unlike models designed for installation on steering and trailer axles, the tread pattern of this tire is designed to provide maximum traction in the longitudinal direction. That's why it consists of many individual blocks that create countless edges of adhesion during movement. At the same time, the distance between them is large enough for the tread to effectively self-clean from particles of road surface and other objects that get stuck in it.
In addition, it is impossible not to note the massive size of the blocks, thanks to which the Hankook DH15 tire has acquired several important qualities at once. First of all, this is stable and accurate handling, achieved due to the high deformation resistance of the blocks. Moreover, due to the large size, it was possible to achieve a maximum increase in the contact patch area, which had a beneficial effect on the traction properties when driving on dry pavement.
Good directional stability
One of the characteristic features of the tread pattern of this model is the scheme of arrangement of its elements. They are grouped into four longitudinal ribs, thanks to which the tire demonstrates good directional stability.
Excellent resistance to aquaplaning and slash planning
Another undeniable advantage of the block structure of the tread pattern of this tire is the possibility of equipping it with a very developed system of drainage channels, located both longitudinally and transversely. At the same time, their sizes are so large that they perfectly cope with the removal from the contact patch not only of water but also of much more heavy masses of meltwater. As a result, the tire demonstrates excellent resistance to both aquaplaning and slash planning, thereby ensuring a high level of safety when driving in unfavorable weather conditions.
Main features of the Hankook DH15 tire
- a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern provides excellent traction and grip properties, especially on low-friction surfaces;
- a large number of individual blocks allow you to move confidently not only on asphalt but also on snowy, muddy, and sandy surfaces;
- the massive size of the blocks gives them high resistance to dynamic deformations, which has a beneficial effect on both handling and the distribution of external pressure on the contact patch;
- the developed drainage system demonstrates excellent performance thanks to the block structure of the tread pattern.
